2014 has begun and I have another list of things to accomplish. I wouldn't actually call them resolutions, more like life goals. It's become quite a habit of mine and this year won't be any different. I haven't exactly completed the whole list yet but I have started working on it over the past few days.
Top of my list if to update this blog/portfolio. I know that I've neglected both my writing and photography over the past year and I intend to make up for it starting with my newly planned Project 52. I was initially planning on doing the Project 365 thing but changed my mind at the last minute. You see, I don't think I'm capable of committing to a daily photo. I have neither the time nor energy for it and I would seriously hate to bite off more than I can chew. So, for now, I'll settle for a photo a week. The first of which is the enclosed photo in this post. I decided for a more nostalgic shot. I seriously hope that the message comes across well enough. I forgot to include a behind the scenes shot because I got dizzy after taking the photo. This was actually shot in my bedroom, on the floor, with a flashlight as my spotlight. I do believe the shot came out well given the challenges I had with my set up.
Now, as for the rest of my goals for this year, I intend to work on A LOT of mini projects but I've decided to break them down into a few major categories.

I do believe the shot came out well given the challenges I had with my set up.
Now, as for the rest of my goals for this year, I intend to work on A LOT of mini projects but I've decided to break them down into a few major categories.
These are my top goals for 2014 (in no particular order):
1. Expand my knowledge and hone my skills
It has come to my attention that since I stopped studying, I have added and changed very little about the things that I've learned. I intend to make 2014 the year when I learn new things and expand the knowledge and skills that I already have. This being said, part of this major category are the following:
2. Get started in gaining financial stability
I say start gaining because I know I can't get the desired financial stability within just one month. So rather than hoping to do the impossible I'll start with simply TRYING to go towards a goal that would take a much longer time line. In order to achieve this I intend to:
3. Live life and enjoy what goes with it
I told myself that when I turn 20 (or when I get a job), I will travel and have fun and enjoy the fruits of my labor. Basically, I'm saying that I would like to be able to enjoy the money I earn, travel, enjoy the food I want to eat and buy the things I want to buy. So far though, I've only managed to buy myself the dSLR that I've wanted for so long, an iPod Touch and the ability to feed myself expensive food. I want more than that. So this year will, since I'll officially be in my mid twenties, I want to be able to do that.
4. Start caring about appearances rather than just my mind
I grew up without caring so much about my looks because I believed that nourishing my mind is better than trying to be pretty. I value intellect more than looks. But now, I believe that they should not be mutually exclusive. Someone can be smart and also look decent. I know I will never be model perfect but I do know that I can try to make a better effort. Because of that, I've already thought of several steps in completing this goal. Part of which is to change my wardrobe (or at least buy more clothes) as well as make an effort to actually care about how I look. This will be a hard one since I haven't really cared for 24 years but hey, I got to start somewhere, yeah?
5. Build and maintain stronger relationships
At this point in my life, I only have a few people I actually consider close friends. I've fallen out of touch with some of them but I intend to reconnect and stay connected. I also plan on making my relationship with my beau a lot stronger. I know that he and I are stable but if we are to end up together, then we MUST work on it still. I hope to do that this year. At the same time, I want to build worth while friendships with other people as well.
This is a shortened version of a long list but I do hope to be able to accomplish all of them within my time frame. I've mentioned all of these to the boyfriend and I'm sure he'll be helping me out in ensuring that I achieve most if not all of them. Here's hoping that 2014 will be as epic as I want it to be.
Lots of love and well wishes,
The Curious Kath
1. Expand my knowledge and hone my skills

I intend to make 2014 the year when I learn new things and expand the knowledge and skills that I already have. This being said, part of this major category are the following:
- Take an actual photography class or attend at least one photography seminar
- Have more personal shoots. Or at least take more photos
- Re-learn or re-acquaint self with Photoshop
- Learn how to cook an entire meal (that means something more than pasta and dessert)
- Read at least one book a month
- Complete Project 52
- Post at least one blog post a week
- Finish my novel within the year
2. Get started in gaining financial stability
I say start gaining because I know I can't get the desired financial stability within just one month. So rather than hoping to do the impossible I'll start with simply TRYING to go towards a goal that would take a much longer time line. In order to achieve this I intend to:
- Open up a personal savings account
- Save a portion of my salary every pay day that would not be given to the 'rentz ( I have a specific goal in mind but I won't write it here )
